Q's Daily DIY Green Tips: Naval Showers

When I suggest taking "Naval Showers" as a way to be green, don't get confused and think "navel."  While washing all parts of your body - including your navel - is important, it is the method of doing so that merits attention.  A "Navy Shower," or "Military Shower" is the basic shower minus the middle "shower" part.  Turning off the water while soaping up and cleaning yourself can result in some significant water conservation.  Figure a ten minute shower might use 60 gallons of water.  A Naval Shower can use as little as 3 gallons.  Not a bad bathing habit to cultivate.
