Q's Daily DIY Green Tips: Hot Water Use Reduction

Many of us use either a gas or electric to heat our hot water in our homes.  Using less hot water is a great way to reduce our energy consumption.  An easy fix is to take shorter showers, or in the summer months, cool showers when your shower doubles as a way to cool off.  Another great way to use less energy is to install low flow plumbing fixtures.  Low flow fixtures use pressure and aerators to generate the same feels as a fixture using a greater amount of water.  Start with the fixtures you use most, and that use the most water, like a shower head.
